Last Soccer Game!

Well we had our last soccer game on Sat. 11/17/07. The kids were so cute and most of the time they all worked well together. Here are a few pics of the "Grasshoppers" in action.

We signed both the kids up for soccer this fall. Madalyn plays on a team "Grasshoppers" Ryan is the coach and I am the team mom. When we got the team roster we discovered that we had 3 other kids from church on our team and 3 kids we didn't know. So we have a total of seven kids on the team.

Coaching Madalyn's soccer team is something that Ryan has talked about since she was born. We have enjoyed this experience with Madalyn and hope to have more fun with the kids in sports.

Ethan was in Pee-Wee Soccer this fall. He and Ryan (and occasionally me if dad couldn't make it) practiced once a week and learned some basic skills in soccer. The last practice they got to play a little game. It was like 20 3 year olds chasing after the ball, it was so cute.

One day as we sat around Meme’s table eating lunch and talking Madalyn was telling us about stuff that happened “a LONG LONG time ago” according to her. I made a comment about her being so old and she replied “Mom, I don’t hurt.” I’m not sure where she got the idea that if you are old that means you hurt. ~ Jan. 2008

Latter in that same conversation Meme said she thought Madalyn looked like her Grandma Bennett. Madalyn replied “I think Grandma Bennett looks like you Meme. You both have tangled hair.” Meme and Grandma both have curly hair which is what Madalyn was talking about. ~ Jan. 2008

When we were in the car Madalyn was singing a song. These are the words she sang: “…and so my KNEES ARE GRAY…” I was trying to keep from laughing out loud. If you are not sure why this is funny I will tell you. She was singing “I am a Child of God” and the words should have been “…and so my NEEDS ARE GREAT…” It was so cute and I didn’t want to correct her at the time. ~ Feb. 2008

The other night after Ethan went to sleep Madalyn and I stayed up talking for a little bit. She looked at me and then Ethan and back at me and said “I love that little guy.”

Here is another one about singing. Madalyn loves to sing primary songs as loud as she can off the balcony. I heard her outside on the balcony yesterday singing “Follow the Prophet.” Here’s what she sang “Adam was a prophet first THING that we know…” instead of “Adam was a prophet first ONE that we know…” This is a song we have worked on but she always reverts back to the words she likes better. ~ March 2008
