Easter Egg Hunt at School (April 9th)

Ethan had an Easter egg hunt in the morning and Madalyn's was in the afternoon. So, I was able to be at both of them.

Ethan's Easter Egg Hunt

Madalyn's Easter Egg Hunt

At Madalyn's egg hunt they numbered all the eggs. Each child had to find a set of numbers 1-6 in order. It was kind of cool because it made it so everyone had the smae amount of eggs and it made the egg hunt last a little longer. It was also her spring party so they played games and had snacks.

Easter Egg Hunt in Bryan ( April 11th)

We went to Bryan on friday for the Easter weekend. We mostly just rested on friday. On Saturday Our old ward had an Egg Hunt and lunch. It was lots of fun seeing our old friends. The kids loved seeing their friends too.

At this egg hunt the kids lined up and one of the adults called a color to find and sometimes multiples . So it mad the egg hunt last a really long time, but everyone should have ended up with the same amount in the end.

Easter Morning (April 12th)

We were still in Bryan at Grandma & Grandpa's house. Emily spent the night with us and the Easter bunny found all three kids.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we gave the kids one present each to open. They were so excited to open even one gift. They each got a new pair of Pj's and modeled them for pictures.

Madalyn & Ethan open their presents.

Yeah!! New PJ's.

Treats for Santa and his reindeer.

Then we put the kids in bed and read some Christmas stories.

"O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree..."

We put up our Christmas tree on Dec. 6th and decorated it on the 7th. This was so much fun putting up a tree in our new home. The kids enjoyed putting on ornaments and did a really great job. I was very pleased and didn't feel the need to move ornaments around to make it look more balanced.

Me putting on the bead trim while the kids enjoy a Christmas movie (Santa Clause 3). They actually watch it year round.

Dad puts the hooks on the ornaments ant the kids hang them on the tree.

Here is the finished tree.

NATIVITIES

I have acquired a few nativities over the years.

This is one that Meme made for the kids. They love playing with it.

This one is a music box.

This one is the kids "Little Peoples" Nativity. They keep this one out all year.

This was my first. The Mrs. Clause on the end was made by my Grandma Eyers. It is very delicate so I had to put it out of reach from the kids.

Christmas on 5th Street

We have had a wonderful month full of Christmas cheer!

We kicked off our celebrating with "Christmas on 5th Street" (at Baylor) the first week in December. They had a live nativity, petting zoo, pony rides, carriage rides, cookie decorating, free hot chocolate, pictures with Santa and a concert. It was a very cold evening, so we had the kids all bundled up ready for some outdoor fun.

Madalyn enjoyed seeing a real camel, but Ethan was a little scared.

They both enjoyed the petting zoo. They had baby goats and baby sheep.

If you are not aware Madalyn absolutely loves horses. She thought the pony ride was the best thing ever. She picked the pony that had glitter on it and said "Mom, I think she is beautiful" with the cutest smile.

Ethan enjoyed the pony ride too. He said "I think the pony likes me".

We had hot chocolate and decorated cookies before calling it a night. It was a nice evening of family and fun.

4th of July Fun!!

This year we spent the 4th at my parents. That morning we went to the end of my parents street a watched the parade. The kids all had fun watching the police cars, fire trucks and families riding in the parade. Teegan was a little worried about anybody stepping off the curb onto the blacktop. Ethan did not enjoy the sirens but they all enjoyed the candy. I wish I had remembered my camera but I don't function very well in the morning.

That evening we cooked hamburgers and hot dogs in the backyard. We had lots of family around to enjoy the evening.

Everyone at the party:

Papa & Meme

Pepa & Mema

Aunt Amy, Uncle Chris, Mason, Bryson, Jackson & Teegan

Uncle Travis

Ryan, Heather, Madalyn & Ethan

Grandma Velma (Chris' Mom)

Donella, Dallin, Makay, Riley, Cami, & Elise (Chris' sister and her children)

The kids enjoyed playing on the water slide and the younger ones played in the baby pool and swing set.

The HUNT

I think it was almost 5:00 pm when we did the Easter egg hunt. Madalyn was very concerned that it was getting late and we still had not hunted for eggs. Ryan and I went out to hide the eggs. The kids anxiously waited inside. Then we finally let them go in the backyard to find the eggs. Uncle Travis brought out the confetti eggs too. Travis and I chased each other around with confetti eggs. When Travis got me the egg broke in my face and I had confetti all in my mouth, YUCK!! That was lots of fun. Apparently while Travis was chasing me Ethan was yelling at Travis "Leave my Mommy alone". Isn't that sweet, trying to protect his Mommy. I love that little guy.

Dressed in "Sunday Best"

Here is our attempt at getting family pictures.

Ethan was not happy because Uncle Travis took his toy sword. I didn't want him holding a sword in our family pictures.

The kids were so cute holding hands and then Ethan lost his balance. He went backwards into the bushes and Madalyn started giggling. It was so funny the way she covered her mouth as she giggled.

Ethan thought it was pretty funny too.
