Fishing

We went to Lake Bryan one evening with the YM (Ryan is the Teachers advisor at church) and cooked hot dogs. The teachers went swimming and Ryan and our kids went fishing. The kids love to fish at Mema & Pepa's ranch, the driveway, the living room and even at the lake. They have had so much fun with the liitle fishing poles that Ryan got them .

Barnyard Field Trip

Madalyn's class had it's first field trip in September. They went to a Barn on A&M campus. Madalyn thought riding on the bus was awesome. She also enjoyed seeing all the animals . She got to climb up on a huge tractor and pet lots of animals. She saw a huge cow dog that was white and fluff and she said "that looks just like Pepa's dog". I think she liked the horse the best. They all got to take turns roping the "hay bale steer". After they saw all the animals they all got Blue Bell Ice Cream Sandwiches. Madalyn had a great time.

Ethan's Birthday

Happy 3rd Birthday Ethan!!!
Ethan's birthday was in September. We had a family party and he had a "Sports" Birthday.
We had lots of fun with all the family over to celebrate. Uncle Travis even brought his new dog Durango with him. Ethan was terrified of Durango at first but quickly warmed up to him.
Ethan got his first bike this year, as is our tradition for the 3rd birthday. He loves to go outside any chance he gets to ride his bike. However he loves to ride in the kitchen when he can't go outside.
I had the pleasure of making Ethan's cake again this year. I had a lot of fun and my mom helped me when I needed it. I hope I can continue to make the kids cakes and improve my skills. (I also made Madalyn's cake this year).

Fall Soccer

We signed both the kids up for soccer this fall. Madalyn plays on a team "Grasshoppers" Ryan is the coach and I am the team mom. When we got the team roster we discovered that we had 3 other kids from church on our team and 3 kids we didn't know. So we have a total of seven kids on the team.
Coaching Madalyn's soccer team is something that Ryan has talked about since she was born. We have enjoyed this experience with Madalyn and hope to have more fun with the kids in sports.
Ethan was in Pee-Wee Soccer this fall. He and Ryan (and occasionally me if dad couldn't make it) practiced once a week and learned some basic skills in soccer. The last practice they got to play a little game. It was like 20 3 year olds chasing after the ball, it was so cute.

School Bells Ring

At the end of August Madalyn started school (Pre-K). She was so excited to get to go to school like her older cousins. She really wanted to ride the bus but Ryan and I were not comfortable with that. So I took her to school the first day and she was ready for me to go home as soon as she stepped into the classroom. I should have known that this would be an easy thing for her. She is not afraid to try anything or to meet people. She was so excited about school when I picked her up she wanted to know when she could go back.
She still enjoys school and is always excited to tell me what she did, however she does not like to tell me what she ate at school. I usually have to play the guessing game to figure it out. She has made lots of new friends and seems to enjoy her teachers.

July

In July we celebrated Madalyn's 4th Birthday. She had a Cinderella Birthday and got lots of dress-up clothes and accessories (she loves playing dress-up). Ehtan also enjoys playing dress-up with his sister and playing princess or whatever they imagine at the time.
Ryan went on another work trip at the end of July. This time he went to Georgia and was only gone for 3 days (yeah!! much better).

Family Vacation

I wanted to share some things that have happened this year. The last week of May we moved into a Townhome in Bryan. We started moving on Thursday and the following Monday Ryan left for California for work. He was gone 2 weeks and we were so glad when daddy came home. We had our first family vacation at the end of June. We took the kids to San Antonio and went to Sea World the first day. Ryan has a cousin that lives very close to Sea World so we stayed with them and the kids had a blast playing with Jimmy and Addy (who they love playing with and miss living close to). The next day we went to Fiesta Texas with Liz, Jimmy and Addy. That was so much fun. Sunday we went to church with liz and the kids and just hung out around the house. Monday we got up for our last day of vacation and went back to Sea World. The kids had a blast and to this day still talk about the dolphins.

Starting a Blog!

Wednesday Nov. 7,2007 Well I thought I would start a blog for my family since it seems to be the easiest way to keep in touch these days.
