Bergquist cousins come to visit

Liz , Dave & their kids stopped at our house on Sunday (march 29th) when they were headed home from Dallas. It was really great to see them again. I think it had been about a year since we saw them last. The kids had a great time playing with their cousins.

The cousins

We made waffles for dinner topped with fruit, whipped cream & syrup. Everyone enjoyed dinner.

YUMMMMMY

Ryan & Dave

Thanks for stopping in to see us Liz, Dave & family.

Our Trip

Ryan had a business trip in Grapevine for 2 days (Wed. March 25th and Thur. March 26th). I decided to take those days off and go with him. I was really needing some time off from work. My mom & dad agreed to keep the kids and get them to school so we headed out early Wednesday morning. We had chick-fil-A for breakfast... yummmm. When we arrived at our hotel we checked in and rested for half an hour before Ryan had to go to his training.

Sweet ...it's a Jacuzzi

When Ryan left I called Travis to see if he would be available for lunch. He came and picked me up around 11:30 and we ate lunch at Firehouse Subs. We had a nice lunch & a good time catching up. When I got back to the hotel I decided to go to the Grapevine Mills Mall. That is one big Mall. It was lots of fun looking in all the stores and taking as long as I wanted.

When Ryan got done we went to dinner at this steak house that was recommended "Love & War in Texas". It was kind of expensive and it was okay, nothing fancy.

The next day Ryan went to his training again & I headed off to the Mall again. I found a couple of purses that I bought & lots of clothes that I would have loved to get but didn't. I ate lunch in the mall. Ryan got done early so we headed home early. On our way home we stopped in Ft Worth to see one of my sweet little friends (from my class) who was just diagnosed with Leukemia (ALL) that week. I enjoyed playing trains with him in the play room.

We made it home that evening and picked up the kids at my parents it was a nice little get away.

My 29th Birthday

I celebrated my 29th Birthday on March 24th. We had a nice birthday dinner at my parents the Sunday before my birthday. It was nice having dinner at my parents. I love having my favorite meal (steak & Armenian rice) followed by my favorite dessert (pound cake smothered in strawberries). On Monday night mom permed my hair. Tuesday the 24th Ryan sent me beautiful Roses at work. Then my friends at work gave me a card and shopping money for my trip. Thanks guys that was really nice. I enjoyed shopping and finding something for me.

Thanks Honey they were Beautiful!

I just love all the different colors.

Ryan turned the BIG 30

Ryan had his birthday March 21st. My friend Angela and her family decided to decorate our front yard with black streamers and "over the hill" signs late friday night. It was kind of funny because she was terrified of getting caught. However, everyone in our house was already asleep. (Sorry no pics.)

The next day we decided to have a little dinner/ birthday party at Angela's house. We had Loaded Baked Potatoes, salad and cheesecake. Angela also baked a Birthday cake for Ryan.

We also invited another friend Krista and her son. The kids enjoyed playing with a new friend. It was very nice letting the kids play outside with their dogs too. After dinner we hung out in the garage while the kids played on the mini pool table. They also had a motorized scooter that belong to their son. We each took it for a little ride. It was kind of cool Ethan loved it but Madalyn scraped her toe on the ground.

We then sang Happy Birthday and enjoyed some cake. Thanks Angela & Brandon it was a lot of fun.

Dr. Seuss Week (March 2nd-6th)

We celebrated Dr. Seuss's Birthday this week at school. We had lots of fun activities making green eggs and ham for the kids to eat, a hat parade and a little visit from the Cat in the Hat as he read his story. Ethan was asked to be Thing 1 for the reading. Ethan did not want to do this at first, but with a little convencing from mom he agreed to it.

Flowers & Love, Flowers & Love, Flowers & Love

On Thursday after work & School the kids were playing outside. They both came in with hands full of flowers they had picked for Mommy. It was so sweet of them.

Latter when Ryan got home I said I needed to run to the store to get some hamburger buns for dinner and pick up some pictures. Ryan & Ethan offered to go for me. When they got home Ethan handed me bouquet of Yellow Roses (My favorite).

On Friday while I was at work we were just finishing lunch with my class when the office buzzed my room and asked me to come to the office. When I got to the office I found a box with my name on it. When I opened it up it was a bouquet of Red Roses & Baby's Breath (the vase was laying behind it). Ryan sent me these beautiful flowers with a very sweet message. It was the first time he has every had flowers delivered to me and it made me tear up. I love my husband. He is so thoughtful and I think it was very sweet of him to get me flowers 2 days in a row.

Cousin Gabe's 5th B-Day

In January we celebrated Gabe's 5th Birthday. This was lots of fun but also a little sad. This was about 2 weeks before Gabe and his family were leaving for another overseas journey for about 2-3 years.

Madalyn Lost Her 1st Tooth

The last week of December Madalyn discoverd her first "wiggily tooth". She was so excited to have a "wiggily tooth". She also made sure everyone knew about her tooth. On Sunday January 25th we were driving home from Papa's & Meme's house ,where we had dinner. Madalyn tells me in the car to look how loose her tooth has gotten. I turned around to look at her & she uses her tounge to move her tooth. She pushed it so far over that her lip hid the tooth and it looked like the tooth was already gone. I said she would probably loose her tooth before she went to bed. When we got home I asked her to get ready for bed and then I wanted to take apicture of her VERY LOOSE tooth. I went to change into my PJ's and then grabbed my camera. When I got in Madalyns room her tooth was laying on her bed and she had alittle blood in her mouth. I guess she just couldn't help playing with her loose tooth. We got her baby tooth into the little pouch on the special Tooth Fairy pillow that Meme made. Then we took lots of pictures. She also had to call both sets of grandparents , Uncle Travis , Aunt Amy & her Smith cousins. Was she excited or what?

Ethan's Geo Trax

Ethan has been collecting Geo Trax since he was 2. Since he got a few new trains for Christmas. Daddy & Ethan decided to set up the train set in Ethan's room. Before now we have never really had a good place that was out of the way to set it up. We were able to leave it up for the whole month of January. Ethan and Madalyn played with it nearly everyday.

Ethan gives Daddy a thumbs up on his building skills

Aren't they cute!!

Marshmellow Kids

One night in early January the kids were getting ready for bed. When I heard them giggling I went to see what was so funny. This is what I found "Marshmellow kids".
